Spoiled or contaminated food ingestion, foreign bodies, toxic plants, chemicals and medicines that irritate, often cause acute gastritis. Viral and bacterial causes of infection are not well identified in dogs and cats but may be encountered. Dogs are generally infected because her eating habits are not picky. Initial symptoms typically seen with acute vomiting, vomiting of food and bile secretion, and sometimes accompanied by a little blood. Animals become infected usually do not desire to eat and feel sick. Fever and abdominal pain are not public.

This can be diagnosed when dogs seen eating something that irritates, acute gastritis usually inferred from the history and physical examination are met. Abdominal radiography and clinical data indicate pathology if animals are sick or if there is suspicion of other diseases. If vomiting still lasts 1-2 days after being given fluids and symptomatic therapy, the diagnosis of the above might be true. Acute gastritis shows symptoms that vary in accordance with its cause (e.g. foreign bodies, intoxication). History and physical examination are both necessary. Pet owners should keep an eye on and if the conditions are worsening or no improvement in 1-3 days should do blood tests, urinalysis and serum biochemical.
