Fleas on Pets
Fleas endanger the health of your pet and your family’s health. A crowd of fleas is one general health problem in dogs and cats. Almost every dog and cat will be surrounded by fleas at least once during his life. There are two types of fleas, dog fleas and cat fleas. Cat fleas more commonly found and can live and breed in dogs and cats and can bite humans and other small animals. This means that cats often become the source of this flea’s problem when cats and dogs are kept at a home. Fleas’ season was once thought to start from late April until the end of November. But now the fleas are a problem throughout the year. Despite the cold outside, inside the house is always warm to supports the fleas’ population. Therefore, pets’ treatment should be given throughout the year. Fleas not only make your pet itchy, but also can make your pet really sick. Maybe a bit hard to see these fleas but fleas will feel its presence, especially your pets. The first step to terminate fleas’ invasion is to know its existence. Learn how to solve this problem and how to prevent them from coming back again. Be aware of warning signs below, which indicates the existence of fleas on your pet.
Flea dirt – black dirt on your pet or flea dirt on her bed, which is dried blood, was thrown by adult fleas. There are two easy ways to check out this flea dirt. Comb the fleas; the combs are available in stores or clinics. Comb your pet, be sure to comb through her hair to the skin. If there is a black stain on the comb when appointed, it is the indication of fleas’ dirt stains. If there are fleas on the comb, dip them into the water before they jump back into your pet. To distinguish whether the black stains flea dirt or not, put the stain on the tissue paper and make it wet. Black flea dirt that will become taxable when red or brown water. Place white paper under your pet and rub them into your pet hair. If black spots appear, they may be flea dirt. Other sign of fleas’ invasion is scratching, if your pet scratch a lot, it means they are disturbed by excessive fleas. If one of these signs appears, check with your veterinarian. You can eliminate existing fleas and prevent the return of your pet they interfere with the use of anti-lice medications.
